Lyft Is Targeted by Class-Action Suit

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against ride-sharing service Lyft, alleging that the company arbitrarily cut off a promotion that would have given drivers a $1,000 bonus. The criteria was apparently how long it took their background check to clear. If it did not clear by a certain date—regardless if it eventually came back clear—the driver did not get the bonus.

Current Lyft drivers who recruited new drivers were also promised the bonus, and it was also tied to the background check of the new driver.

The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages.
