Ban-the-Box 4: Certain Major Municipality UPDATE – The following also applies to private employers, employing 6 or more employees: The City Council of Kansas City Missouri passed further restrictions to questions regarding the criminal history of applicants. Effective June 1, 2018, employers with six or more employee may not inquire about an applicant’s criminal history until it is determined the individual is otherwise qualified for the applied for position, plus after the applicant has been interviewed for that position.
