Multiple CA 03/18/2021 TBD MEDIUM Counties throughout the state are either closing or are severely limiting public entrance. We should expect significant delays in processing, particularly in areas that require clerk assistance.

DELAYS:

Alameda -We are currently unable to process any document requests in this court as the Clerk’s Counter is closed.

Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara, Shasta, Solano, Stanislaus -Cases requiring clerk assistance may be delayed.

El Dorado – Court is moving to clerk search only, expect delays.

Imperial – Court has reduced staff which will severely delay

Mono – Each hit has to be performed by clerks, causing delays.

San Bernardino- Court has reopened, however are short staffed. They are estimating it may take up to 21 days to complete searches requiring clerk assistance.

Sutter – Court is open, however, clerk assistance is NOT available. Only searches that can be completed from the PAT will be completed. Even those will be delayed due to appointment times.

 

Riverside CA 02/25/2021 TBD MEDIUM This court has reopened, however, only to court staff and not available to the public.
San Mateo CA 12/16/2020 N/A MEDIUM Court is still closed, however, the clerks have created a Drop Box where requests can be dropped off and returned to vendors
Santa Barbara CA 03/11/2021 TBD HIGH Court has closed again, however, clerks are assisting as they are able. Major delays should be expected in this area.
ALL DE 04/01/2021 04/05/2021 MEDIUM Courts have resumed Phase 2 of their reopening plan, and are allowing limited visitation for the public. We will continue to process orders, but please be advised that we anticipate minor delays.

Multiple KY 04/01/20221 Multiple HIGH We have been notified that due to the increase in Covid 19 cases in Kentucky, the Administrative office of the Courts (AOC) sent down an order to all the county courts that access will be severely restricted until further notice. Per the order public access is no longer allowed. This being said, certain counties still allow researchers to make appointments to utilize the Public Access system (PAT) while other courts are interpreting this order as NO public access. We will provide updates on jurisdictions as they are available.

-CLOSED until further notice (NO access): , Estill, Hardin, Hopkins (closed until 4/1), Lyon, Mercer, Nelson, and Simpson and Washington

-CLOSED until no longer labeled as “Red Zone”: Gallatin, Knox, Laurel, and Union

Court remains closed, however, clerks are assisting with completing CLEARS ONLY: Boyd and Perry

ALL KY 11/23/2020 TBD HIGH Due to the increasing spread of COVID throughout the state, the Chief Justice has issued new guidance for court operations. Counties that are in COVID “Red Zones” are encouraged to halt all in-person activities, and are advising clerk’s offices to close. Currently, there are over 50 counties affected, limiting in-person access, or only allowing searches to be performed with clerk assistance. We expect delays throughout the state.

As a result, we anticipate significant delays in processing throughout the state, and counties affected by this guidance to fluctuate on a weekly basis. A list of these Red Zone counties can be found by following the link below.

Multiple MA 1/19/2021 N/A MEDIUM The following courts are closed, however, we do currently have limited access in the following counties: Bristol, Hampden, and Middlesex. Delays should be expected in these areas.

Suffolk: Court is closed to the public, however, they are assisting when they are able. This court is currently extremely short staffed, therefore, severe delays should be expected.

ALL MI 1/6/2021 N/A HIGH In response to the spread of COVID-19, courts in MI are taking measures to limit public exposure. Following the governor’s stay-at-home order, all courts are operating with essential staff only. In areas that require clerks to assist with searches, delays should be expected. We are continuing to process orders in areas with remote access, where our researchers are able to access PATs in courts, and where clerks are willing to assist.

Please be advised that the District Court in Branch had closed due to COVID exposure in the courts. They are once again open, but access is limited.

ALL NJ 1/19/2021 N/A MEDIUM All Superior Court locations are continue to remain closed to the public. We have been granted access to the new remote portal, and are processing on a limited basis. The new portal does have require an increased fee for use, so please contact your account manager for more information.

Multiple NY 8/3/2020 N/A MEDIUM In response to the spread of COVID-19, courts are taking measures to limit public exposure. However, all courts are now open on at least a limited or by appointment basis. We will continue to expedite our pending orders as much as possible, but we still do anticipate longer than normal TATs.
Hardin TN 02/18/2021 N/A MEDIUM Court is partially open, however, the staff is still dealing with Covid. Visits to the court are being limited. Delays should be expected. These conditions are expected to continue until at lease April.

Orange TX 12/16/2020 TBD MEDIUM District Court office is closed, any search requiring clerk assistance cannot be processed at this time. Circuit Court is fully functional.
ALL WV 02/18/2021 TBD HIGH Most courts have resumed in-person operations. While we expect researchers will once again have access to conduct research, we also expect TATs will be extended until we are able to process the backlog of orders from the closures as many searches require clerk assistance. We have confirmed that Hampshire, WV has closed to researchers again, but clerks will process requests for a fee. We have also learned that Logan county has closed due to COVID-19 exposure in the courts. Braxton county is now requiring a notarized release from the individual being checked.

REOPEN, however, delays should be expected due to requiring appointments or working through backlog: Boone, Kanawha, and Upshur
